What RaceLab Arena is, how the physical system works and which public details remain unconfirmed.
The concept
RaceLab Arena is a physical RC racing experience in development in Perth. A driver uses professional simulator controls to operate a real physical RC vehicle through a live onboard FPV camera feed.
Yes. The vehicle is a real physical RC vehicle moving on a physical track. It is not a computer-rendered car.
No. RaceLab Arena does not involve customers driving full-sized cars. The simulator controls operate a real physical RC vehicle.
Drive Input from steering, throttle and braking passes through the Race Console, Command Link and RLA Drive Module to control the physical RC vehicle.
Driving + data
The driver sees a live onboard FPV camera feed from the physical RC vehicle, together with planned session information such as telemetry and lap timing.
FPV means first-person view. A camera mounted on the RC vehicle sends a live view of the physical track to the Race Console.
Telemetry and lap timing are part of the system being developed. Final public displays and features will be confirmed after testing.
Beginner, Intermediate and Pro Driver Profiles are planned. Their final behaviour will be determined through prototype testing.
Access + safety
Age and participant requirements are not yet confirmed. They will be published after safety and experience testing.
Speed controls, Driver Profiles, physical track design and operating procedures are being considered during development. Final requirements are not yet confirmed.
RaceLab Arena is being developed in Perth, Western Australia, but a public venue has not been confirmed.
